About Nicole 

Nicole Poupart, B.Sc. 
Orthotic Technical Intern

When Nicole graduated with a degree in kinesiology, she wasn’t sure what she wanted to do next. She liked helping people and working with her hands. She also had experience volunteering in rehabilitation settings at various hospitals. But it was learning about the fabrication of orthotic devices during a volunteer stint at Boundless that inspired her career choice.

Nicole now works full time at Boundless honing her technical skills. The relationship between Boundless clinicians and technicians is a dynamic one. Technicians are highly involved in making decisions about materials. They prepare and construct each device, including all the fittings such as straps and foot linings. It is truly a custom process, with technicians often consulting and checking with clinicians to see what they think of a device as it takes shape. Nicole gets a lot of satisfaction in completing a device to the best of her ability, making it look as sleek as possible, and seeing it go out the door to benefit someone’s life.

Nicole is a graduate of the Prosthetics & Orthotics Technician Program at George Brown College.
