About Adrienne
Adrienne Cuch, M.Sc, CO(c)
Certified Orthotist
Creating a custom-made orthotic is not a one-size-fits -all solution. Each client is unique, especially those with challenges that require a few different approaches. For Adrienne, it was the ability to create these specialized approaches using a blend of art and science that drew her to the profession. After several years with Boundless, she still considers herself very lucky to have found a field she loves to work in.
What part of her job does she find most rewarding? Many things, from identifying an issue and coming up with a creative solution that works, to forming long-term relationships with clients. Watching a client progress in a positive way—whether it’s a pediatric client walking with their heels down for the first time or a trauma patient walking without pain after a long journey in rehab and orthotic management is immensely gratifying.
Like many on the Boundless team, Adrienne would like the general public and healthcare practitioners to have a greater awareness of the orthotics profession. To this end she hopes to raise public knowledge by contributing to advocacy levels both locally and nationally. As for the long term, she wants to keep doing what she loves—finding ways to improve services to patients that will improve their quality of life.
Adrienne holds an Honours BA in Kinesiology from the University of Western Ontario. She completed one year of the Technician Program at the Prosthetics & Orthotics Program at George Brown College, and is a graduate of the Clinical Methods in Prosthetics and Orthotics program.
To enhance client care and promote an evidence-based approach to practice, she completed completed a Masters of Science in Rehabilitation at McMaster University. This led to the exploration of important topics including "A Review of Clinical Practice Guidelines for Treating Pediatric Pes Planus", plus an educational program about driving with an ankle-foot orthosis (AFO). In addition, she is an instructor at the Prosthetics & Orthotics Program at George Brown College teaching courses in Anatomy and Orthotic Pathologies.
